


Michael Manion has been studying Isshin Ryu Karate since 2003 and is a member of the Okinawan Isshin Ryu Karate and Kobudo Association (OIKKA). Over the years, Michael has had the opportunity to train with Master John Devine, Hanshi N. Morgan Woods, Kyoshi Dayne Walz, Renshi Rodney S. Guignet and Sensei Rebecca Pizzolatto. Also during this time, Michael was active in regional martial arts tournaments. Michael placed very often when entering competitions including a grand championship and many other first through third places.
Mike Manion received his black belt in Isshin Ryu Karate in 2006. In preparation for his black belt test, Mike started training with Team Hammer - the Mixed Martial Arts team at LVIRK Training Center. Because of his dedication to Isshin Ryu Karate and LVIRK Training Center, Mike was awarded LVIRK's Student of the Year in 2006.
Since earning his black belt in Isshin Ryu Karate, Michael Manion has enhanced his martial arts training with Team Hammer and has studied Muay Thai Kickboxing, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Greco-Roman Wrestling. As a member of Team Hammer, Michael has competed in three Kickboxing and three Mixed Martial Arts bouts.
In addition to martial arts, Mike Manion played baseball and ran cross country for Catasauqua High School. After high school, Mike received his Associates degree in education from Lehigh Carbon Community College. He is currently at Moravian College working on his B.A. in Environmental Policy with a minor in history.
