On Saturday, May 31, 2009, Team Hammer’s coach, Rodney Guignet, is scheduled to enter the cage for the very first time at Barbarian Fight Club’s Taste of Fury in Ruther Glen, VA.

Even though this is Coach Rodney’s amateur debut, the promoter of the event, Matt Douglas, said that Coach Rodney was by far the hardest person he ever had to find a match for. Coach Rodney’s reputation and the reputation of Team Hammer has spread throughout the MMA community and everyone knows that Team Hammer means business. Matt has a lot of respect for Coach Rodney and has him pictured on the fight poster and has even asked him to be interviewed on a radio show the morning of the fight.

Dave Shapiro of Team Hammer is also expected to fight on the card, but is awaiting an opponent. Dave will be making his amateur MMA debut on Saturday, May 16 at Asylum Fight League’s event in Sayreville, NJ.

Tickets for the Barbarian Fight Club event will be available at LVIRK Training Center for $25 and $35. Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 through $100. Doors open at 6:30 pm and fights are scheduled to start at 7:30 pm. Everyone is encouraged to come and support Coach Rodney and Dave and wish them good luck.
